Edo Queens Target Must-Win Clash Against Nasarawa Amazons

Defending champions Edo Queens FC will face table-toppers Nasarawa Amazons on Saturday in a decisive clash on the final day of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six tournament.

Currently third on the log with seven points from four matches, Edo Queens must secure a win to surpass the Amazons. However, even with a victory, their title defense will hinge on the outcomes of other crucial matches.

In other fixtures, Bayelsa Queens—also on seven points—will go head-to-head with bottom-placed Naija Ratels, who are yet to earn a single point after four games. Meanwhile, Rivers Angels and Remo Stars Ladies, each with seven points as well, will battle in what promises to be another closely contested encounter.

Edo Queens’ head coach, Moses Aduku, acknowledged the challenge ahead but expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and determination.

“It’s going to be a tough match, but the players are prepared for the big task,” Aduku stated. “Only a win can take us to the top, and we’re ready to give it everything against the Amazons.”
