Davido Played a Key Role in Helping Me Secure Sony Music Africa Deal After Leaving DMW – Mayorkun

Nigerian artist Mayorkun has revealed that his former label boss, Davido, was instrumental in helping him land a deal with Sony Music Africa.

Mayorkun originally signed with Davido’s label, Davido Music World (DMW), back in 2016, before parting ways in 2021. Following his departure, many speculated that the two had fallen out, especially after Mayorkun signed with Sony Music West Africa.

However, in a recent interview with 3Music TV, Mayorkun cleared the air by confirming that Davido actually played a significant role in facilitating the deal with his new label.

“Besides managing my own label, I’m currently signed with Sony Music Africa. Big shout out to Davido for helping make that happen,” Mayorkun said.
