BBNaija’s Phyna Apologises for Old Tweets Amid Sister’s Accident Battle with Dangote Group
Reality star reflects on personal growth as her family pursues justice over sister’s tragic accident involving a Dangote truck.

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has issued a public apology for her past social media posts, saying recent experiences have given her a new outlook on life.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Phyna acknowledged that some of her old tweets may have hurt people, adding that she now sees things differently.
“My eyes have opened, I’ve seen a lot this period. All I can say is hold God tight. To those I offended with my old tweets, I’m sorry. I’ve seen the light,” she wrote.
The reality star’s statement comes at a difficult time for her family following a tragic accident involving her younger sister, Ruth.
On August 13, 2025, Ruth lost a leg after she was reportedly hit by a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State. According to Phyna, the truck was driven by an underage and unlicensed driver.
She further alleged that while the Dangote Group initially promised full support for Ruth’s medical care including overseas treatment the company later backed out of the arrangement.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with many fans rallying behind Phyna as she seeks accountability and justice for her sister.
For the reality TV star, the painful episode appears to have prompted deep reflection, leading her to not only confront her past words but also embrace personal growth and resilience in the face of adversity.
