The Lagos State Government has launched electronic registration for the 2025 Universal Basic Education by Continuous Assessment Scores (UBE by CAS) and Placement Test, running from Monday, January 27 to Friday, April 2025.
The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, through the Lagos State Examinations Board, stated that this initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education in the state.
In a statement, the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, announced the registration and informed parents, guardians, headteachers, and proprietors/proprietresses of primary six pupils transitioning to junior secondary schools (JSS) to take appropriate action.
The statement also confirmed the approval of Yoruba Language as one of the subjects to assess the knowledge and thinking abilities of pupils taking the Placement Test by CAS in the state.
Orunsolu emphasized that only primary six pupils from public and approved private primary schools in Lagos are eligible to participate in the UBE by CAS and Placement Test. He clarified that registration is free for pupils in public primary schools, while those in approved private schools will need to pay a fee of N5,000 per candidate, payable through the Lagos State Central Billing System (CBS).
He urged school authorities in both public and approved private primary schools to note the registration dates and ensure parents and guardians are adequately informed.
The Director reassured stakeholders and parents that every child would be attended to, emphasizing that measures are in place to ensure smooth and hassle-free registration.
