Nollywood actress Blessing Onwukwe has spoken about her single status, declaring that she will not put her personal ambitions or happiness on hold while waiting for a romantic relationship.
The actress, popularly known as Mama Monica, shared her position in a post on Instagram, where she acknowledged that although she sometimes experiences loneliness and desires companionship, she remains committed to living her life fully.
She stressed that finding love would be welcome but would not determine how she approaches her future.
In her words, “Am I single? Yes. Do I feel lonely? Sometimes. Do I want love? Yes. Am I going to put my life on hold for it? No! I would continue building and living my life the best way I know how. If nobody comes, then I would be grateful I lived the life I am proud of.”
In the accompanying caption, Onwukwe revealed that her relationship status has become a concern for some of her loved ones, who have questioned her about marriage and having children.
She said their concerns sometimes leave her unsure of how to respond but maintained that she is comfortable with the direction of her life.
The actress also encouraged people to enjoy life rather than become overly anxious about circumstances beyond their control.
Her post has attracted more than 6,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with fans and fellow entertainers offering words of encouragement.
Onwukwe has featured in several Nollywood productions and is recognised for portraying maternal characters on screen.
