Five Nigerian players are set for head-to-head clashes in England and Turkey on Saturday, with three featuring in the English Premier League and two meeting in Turkey.
At Craven Cottage, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey will represent Fulham against Hull City, where Semi Ajayi is expected to anchor the defence.
Fulham have managed just two points from six matches and sit bottom of the table. Iwobi has created 13 chances, the most by any Fulham player this season, but is yet to score or register an assist. Bassey has remained a regular starter and captained the side under new manager Álvaro Arbeloa.
Hull, meanwhile, occupy eighth place with nine points, having beaten Manchester United on the opening day and drawn away to Chelsea. Ajayi has scored once and impressed defensively as the club defies pre-season predictions that it would be among the leading relegation candidates.
Arbeloa faces mounting pressure after collecting only two points from a possible 18 since replacing Marco Silva in July 2026. Following a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town on October 10, reports suggest he may have just two matches to improve results. All three Nigerians are available for selection.
In Turkey, Chidozie Awaziem’s Konyaspor travel to face Amedspor, where Nigerian forward Gift Orban poses a major threat.
Orban, 24, is joint-top scorer in the league with seven goals in seven appearances, alongside two assists. He joined Amedspor on loan from Hoffenheim in July 2026, with reports indicating the club must pay €3m to make the move permanent if he reaches 10 goals.
Awaziem, 29, plays at centre-back for Konyaspor, who are 15th in the standings. Amedspor sit third with 14 points from seven games and are unbeaten in their last five league outings, recording three wins and two draws.
Another Nigerian, winger Yira Sor, has resumed full training after spending about six weeks sidelined by an injury sustained against Trabzonspor. The 26-year-old, who scored once in three league appearances before his setback, could also return to action.
