‘ASK AA’: Atiku Invites Nigerians to Put His Policies to The Test

As political conversations gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has launched a digital platform designed to allow Nigerians question him directly on his political record, policy proposals and plans for the country.

The platform, tagged Ask AA, is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to a statement by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council.

The portal will allow citizens to submit questions and recommendations on key national issues, including the economy, security, technology, job creation and the rising cost of living.

According to the campaign council, Atiku will personally respond to questions submitted through the platform, with members of his media team also assisting in providing answers.

Announcing the initiative on his social media accounts, Atiku said the platform was conceived to promote direct communication between political leaders and citizens, arguing that effective leadership requires greater openness and public engagement.

He described Ask AA as a channel for transparency, accountability and dialogue, through which Nigerians can scrutinise his economic record, examine his policy proposals and contribute ideas on national development.

Atiku also disclosed plans to personally telephone selected participants who provide their contact details, allowing him to hear first-hand about their experiences and the challenges affecting their daily lives.

He urged Nigerians to use the platform to ask questions, share concerns and offer suggestions, adding that a technology-driven and transparent government should begin with listening to the people.

Atiku served as Nigeria’s Vice-President from 1999 to 2007 and has contested the presidency several times. The launch of Ask AA provides a digital avenue for the former vice-president to engage citizens on his political positions and policy priorities.
