Habibat Jinad Reveals the Pain That Made Her Quit Skin Bleaching

Yoruba actress Habibat Jinad has spoken candidly about her experience with skin bleaching, revealing that the physical pain she endured contributed to her decision to quit the practice.
The actress shared photos and video clips from her journey on social media, using her experience to encourage people who may be struggling to leave behind habits they are no longer comfortable with.
Jinad said she has since learned to embrace her natural complexion and described her experience as a reminder that “black is beautiful.”
The actress stressed that she was not sharing her story to attract attention or sympathy but to encourage others who may be considering a similar change.
“The pains behind my bleaching journey. I don’t just post these things here, I’ve been through them. This is one of the reasons I decided to stop bleaching my skin,” she said.
Jinad added that accepting her natural appearance had changed how she viewed herself.
“I’ve learned to embrace my natural skin, and honestly, black is beautiful,” she said.
The actress also urged people who want to break away from habits they consider harmful or unhealthy to make a deliberate decision to change.
She acknowledged that making such a change may be difficult but said determination can help people take the first step.
“Whatever it is you feel is not good for you, you can stop. It may not be easy, but you can do it,” Jinad said.
Reflecting on her own experience, she said she committed herself fully to quitting and was now grateful for the peace that followed.
Jinad encouraged anyone seeking a fresh start not to give up on themselves, adding that faith could provide the strength needed to begin again.
“If you truly want to change, make up your mind and take that first step. Almighty God will surely give you the strength to start a new life. You deserve to be at peace with yourself. You can do it. Don’t give up on yourself,” she added.
