The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has called on the South-East region to back President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, highlighting the positive impact of the current administration’s projects in the region.
Umahi made the appeal on Saturday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, during a courtesy visit by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and his team. The visit included an inspection of various Federal Government projects across Enugu and Ebonyi states.
Describing President Tinubu as “God-sent” to Nigeria and the South-East, Umahi praised the president’s efforts to develop the region and emphasized that the people are well aware of the benefits brought by his administration.
“The good works that President Tinubu is doing for the South-East, especially roads and bridges, are not hidden,” he said.
Umahi added that Tinubu is committed to fairness, ensuring that no region is favoured over another. “Tinubu wouldn’t allow me to put any region ahead of the others. He is someone who is fair and just in ensuring that all Nigerians benefit from the dividends of democracy,” he said.
“That is why I continue to say that all governors of the South-East are supporting Tinubu and should continue to support him in 2027. The president is using me to better the lot of the South-East. We have never had it this good.”
Umahi urged the people of the South-East to remain engaged politically, stressing that regional progress cannot be achieved through sentiments alone.
