President Bola Tinubu has commissioned a series of healthcare projects across Nigeria as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.
The projects, spread across the six geopolitical zones, include specialist hospitals, primary healthcare centres, emergency response systems, immunisation facilities and medical laboratories aimed at improving access to quality healthcare.
Among the projects inaugurated was the Bola Tinubu Specialist Complex at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja. The President also launched a new emergency ambulance fleet under the National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS), designed to strengthen emergency medical response nationwide.
Other projects commissioned include upgraded health facilities in Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Delta, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna and Borno states, as well as the Lagos Immunisation Supply Chain Hub.
Speaking during the virtual commissioning ceremony, President Tinubu said the investments reflect his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and reducing the need for Nigerians to seek medical treatment abroad.
The projects form part of the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative, which aims to improve healthcare infrastructure, emergency response services and access to quality medical care across the country.
