Real Madrid attacker Gonzalo Garcia has revealed that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo is his football idol.
Garcia made the statement following his pivotal role in Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 clash on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old’s second-half goal secured the win for Xabi Alonso’s side against the Serie A giants.
Real Madrid will now take on Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-final stage.
In a post-match interview, Garcia said, “I’ve always said that my idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. I have had several role models throughout my career, but if I had to choose one, it is Cristiano. Always.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, now 40 years old, currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
