Rodrygo Sets Two Conditions to Stay at Real Madrid Amid Arsenal Interest

Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has reportedly outlined two key conditions that must be met for him to remain at the club beyond this summer.

According to The Athletic, the Brazilian is set to hold decisive talks with incoming manager Xabi Alonso to determine his future at the Bernabéu.

Speculation swirled toward the end of last season suggesting that the 24-year-old had made it clear he no longer wished to play for the Spanish giants. His frustration grew after falling down the pecking order, with Carlo Ancelotti often preferring Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham in his lineup.

Rodrygo was frequently left on the bench as Ancelotti adjusted formations and tactics to accommodate the new stars. However, there remains a possibility he could reverse his decision and stay, depending on the outcome of discussions with Alonso.

The first of Rodrygo’s demands is a desire to feel like an integral part of the squad again, after being sidelined following the high-profile arrivals of Bellingham in 2023 and Mbappé in 2024. His second condition is to be played in his favored position on the left wing, rather than the right, where he has been deployed in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, with manager Mikel Arteta eager to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
