Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has pledged to reinforce his team with new additions ahead of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Zubairu’s team is drawn in Group F of the tournament, where they will compete against Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Norway.
The Nigerian side secured a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in May. However, they experienced difficulties converting chances into goals throughout the competition.
The coach emphasized his intention to strengthen the squad before the World Cup kicks off.
“We will be inviting more players to reinforce all areas of the team. It is crucial that we address the shortcomings we observed at the AFCON, particularly our finishing,” Zubairu stated during the Kwara SWAN Hard Talk session held at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Sports Centre, located at the SWAN Secretariat in Ilorin on Monday.
