Yul Edochie Condemns Attacks on Igbos Backing Tinubu
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has criticised what he described as targeted attacks on Igbo individuals who support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a post shared on X, the actor expressed concern over the pattern of criticism directed at supporters within the same ethnic group, arguing that similar reactions are rarely extended to backers of the president from other regions.
Edochie questioned the consistency of such criticism, asking why those who challenge Igbo supporters do not apply the same scrutiny to supporters from other parts of the country or to past leaders.
He emphasised that political differences should not result in division among people of the same background, urging Nigerians to adopt a more balanced and inclusive approach to political discourse.
The actor’s remarks come amid increasing conversations around political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, reflecting broader debates about ethnicity, loyalty, and political expression in Nigeria.
