Wumi Toriola Urges Schools, Parents to Protect Children Amid Intense Heat

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Wumi Toriola has called on schools and parents to take additional measures to protect children as intense heat affects parts of the country.

Toriola made the appeal in an Instagram post on Monday, expressing concern about the weather conditions and their potential impact on pupils.

Speaking from the perspective of a mother, the actress urged schools to introduce precautions to help children cope with the heat during school hours.

She also advised parents to provide their children with extra drinking water, encourage them to stay hydrated and ensure they wear lightweight clothing.

“As a concerned mother, I appeal to our schools to take extra precautions during this period of intense heat,” she wrote.

“And parents, increase their water bottles, add extra water, remind them to hydrate well and dress light.”

Toriola described the message as a reminder to parents and schools as they begin a new week, highlighting the importance of prioritising children’s well-being during periods of intense heat.
