Women Affairs Minister Mourns Passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari

The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in London.

In a statement signed by her Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Jonathan Eze, the Minister described Buhari’s passing as a profound loss—not only to his immediate family but to the entire nation he served with unwavering dedication and patriotism.

“During his tenure as President, Muhammadu Buhari demonstrated steadfast commitment to the development of Nigeria,” she noted. “His leadership and policies impacted millions, particularly through initiatives that advanced the welfare of women and children—key pillars in our national development journey.”

Reflecting on the progress made under his administration, the Minister acknowledged significant strides in the empowerment of women and the promotion of gender equality.

“In this time of national mourning, we remember President Buhari for his resilience, dedication to integrity, and his enduring vision for a prosperous Nigeria,” she said. “His legacy will continue to inspire generations as we collectively work toward building the Nigeria he envisioned.”
