Transfer: Stemmer Urges Orlando Pirates to Sign Nwabali

Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Thabang Stemmer believes Stanley Nwabali would be a valuable addition to the Sea Robbers if signed this summer. Nwabali’s impressive performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire have piqued the interest of many clubs, including the Pirates.

Saudi clubs, El-Ettifaq, Queen Park Rangers and Kaizer Chiefs are among the clubs vying for his signature.

Pirates recently released goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Siyabonga Mpontshane following the expiration of their contracts

Stemmer believes Nwabali would add more depth to the goalkeeping position should he join the Buccaneers.

“The reason Pirates released the two, I think it’s because they want to beef up with Stanley Nwabali,” said Stemmer to Kickoff.

“Even when I was still playing, Pirates always beefed up with top goalkeepers. All the big teams need top goalkeepers.

“Remember Pirates go deeper in all competitions. If Nwabali comes, it would be a good thing for Pirates. We need competition.”
