Trabzonspor Submit Loan Offer for Super Eagles Striker Arokodare

Trabzonspor have become the first club to make an official move for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, submitting a loan proposal to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Turkish Super Lig side, who have been monitoring the Nigerian forward for weeks, have now approached Wolves as they seek attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season.

Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan reports that Trabzonspor view the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for fellow Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu if he leaves the club this summer.

However, negotiations could prove difficult as Arokodare remains tied to Wolves on a long-term contract.

The striker has attracted interest since Wolves were relegated from the Premier League last season, ending their eight-year stay in the English top flight.

Under new manager Cesar Peixoto, Wolves are aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League and have strengthened their squad with experienced players, including Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez.

Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in 2025 on a four-year deal with an option for an additional season, but struggled for regular starts during his first campaign, featuring in 33 league matches and starting just 13.

Trabzonspor face competition from Turkish rivals Besiktas and Fenerbahce, who are also interested in the Nigerian forward. Besiktas reportedly had a €15 million verbal offer rejected and have sought assistance from former Nigeria international Daniel Amokachi and Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in persuading Arokodare to move to Turkey.
