Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on a season-long loan, further strengthening their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The deal, confirmed by Tottenham on Thursday, includes an obligation for the transfer to become permanent next summer. Sky Sports reports that the arrangement is worth up to £60 million, comprising a guaranteed £50 million payment and a further £10 million in potential add-ons.
Marmoush, 27, becomes Tottenham’s eighth signing of the summer and the second Manchester City player to move to north London this week, following Brazilian winger Sávio’s permanent transfer.
The Egyptian forward arrives after an 18-month spell at the Etihad Stadium, where he made 62 appearances and scored 16 goals in all competitions. He initially joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 and made an immediate impact, including a memorable hat-trick against Newcastle United.
However, Marmoush found regular first-team football harder to secure last season, making just eight Premier League starts. His limited opportunities ultimately opened the door for a move, with Tottenham moving quickly to secure his services.
The versatile forward can operate through the middle or from the left flank, giving Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi another attacking option as he continues to reshape the squad.
Marmoush also arrives with valuable international experience. He represented Egypt at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making five appearances during the tournament.
Tottenham are hoping his pace, movement and goalscoring ability will provide an immediate boost to an attack that is undergoing significant change. The club have already spent heavily this summer as De Zerbi attempts to rebuild the squad following a disappointing 17th-place Premier League finish last season.
Marmoush’s arrival also highlights the growing transfer relationship between Tottenham and Manchester City, with Sávio having completed his move to Spurs earlier this week.
For City, the departure allows them to trim their attacking ranks following a major squad overhaul under new manager Enzo Maresca, while Tottenham gain an experienced Premier League forward with the potential to become a permanent fixture at the club.
The move represents another major statement of intent from Spurs as they look to recover from last season’s struggles and mount a stronger challenge in the Premier League.
