Tornadoes’ Shimagande Backs Himself to End Goal Drought

Niger Tornadoes striker Terdoo Shimagande has expressed confidence that he will soon rediscover his scoring touch in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The forward, who has failed to find the net in his last four appearances for the Ikon Allah Boys, has only scored once this season under coach Majin Mohammed.

Speaking to the club’s media team, the former Heartland player admitted that focusing too much on the drought could increase pressure, but insisted he is not fazed.

“When you bother yourself about the drought, it will worry you and you will become anxious. All I just need to do is get one goal and the flood will open,” Shimagande said.

Tornadoes travel to Port Harcourt on Wednesday for a rescheduled matchday six clash against Rivers United, who sit just one point behind them on the table.

The Minna-based side have picked up nine points from five matches, while their hosts, Rivers United, have amassed eight points from four games.
