Ronaldo Blocked Boniface’s Al Nassr Move, Journalist Claims

It has been revealed that Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo played a decisive role in blocking Victor Boniface’s proposed move to the Saudi Pro League. This claim was made by Nigerian broadcast journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, popularly known as Buchi Laba.

According to Buchi Laba, no player is signed by Al Nassr without Ronaldo’s personal approval. The Saudi club had reportedly been in talks with both Nigerian striker Boniface and Colombian forward Jhon Duran, but ultimately signed Duran—on Ronaldo’s recommendation.

Sharing the revelation on X (formerly Twitter), Buchi Laba wrote:
“Let me give you small gist about Jhon Duran and why I’m surprised he’s unhappy at Al Nassr.
Al Nassr negotiated for him and Victor Boniface and at the end they put both names on the table for Cristiano Ronaldo to pick one. Ronaldo selected Duran.
There’s no signing that happens at Al Nassr without Ronaldo approving. Even the Head Coach. He approves everything, so why’s Duran unhappy after not even close to one year?”
