Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has been nominated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The nomination was announced on Monday following a meeting of the Olubadan-In-Council at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, in Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The session, chaired by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, saw all council members in agreement, officially endorsing Ladoja for the revered traditional role.
“We, the members of the Olubadan-In-Council, have all signed and nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the new Olubadan,” Oba Ajibola said.
He explained that the Council’s resolution would be forwarded to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who is expected to announce the date for the official presentation of the Staff of Office.
However, the event will not take place this week, as burial arrangements are underway for the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
Ajibola noted that the governor may decide on a suitable date within the coming weeks.
