PSG sign World Cup winner Ferran Torres on long-term deal

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres from Valencia, with the World Cup winner agreeing a contract that runs until 2031.

The French champions confirmed the transfer on Saturday, announcing that Torres will wear the number nine shirt.

Born in Foios, Spain, on February 29, 2000, Torres began his football journey in futsal before joining Valencia’s academy at the age of seven.

He progressed through the club’s youth ranks and made La Liga history in December 2017 when he became the first player born in the 21st century to appear in the competition, making his debut against Eibar.

Torres made 97 appearances for Valencia across three seasons and established several age-related records.

“In 97 matches for Valencia, Ferran Torres left a lasting impression and set a number of new records for his age, becoming, at 19 years and 324 days, the youngest player in the club’s history to have played 50 league matches, as well as the first goalscorer born in the 21st century in the Champions League for a Spanish club,” PSG said.

He claimed his first major trophy in 2019 when Valencia won the Copa del Rey.
