Portable Rejects Defeat to Carter Efe, Alleges Bias in Celebrity Boxing Match

Singer Portable has rejected the outcome of his bout against Carter Efe at Chaos in the Ring 4, alleging that the contest was unfairly decided.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session shortly after the fight, Portable claimed the match was manipulated and criticised officiating decisions, insisting his performance was not properly recognised.

He argued that Carter Efe’s physical advantage—particularly his height and reach—played a decisive role, while also accusing officials of failing to count his punches. According to him, strikes should have been acknowledged regardless of where they landed.

Portable further alleged that his opponent relied heavily on clinching, while his own offensive efforts were overlooked by judges and spectators.

The fight, held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, ended in a unanimous decision for Carter Efe, with all three judges scoring it 27–30 in his favour.

Following the bout, Portable demanded ₦200 million in streaming revenue from organisers, warning of consequences if the payment is not made. He repeatedly accused those involved of bias and wrongdoing.

Despite his protests, the result brings an end to Portable’s run as celebrity boxing champion, following earlier victories over fellow entertainers.

In the lead-up to the match, the singer had expressed confidence in securing another title, while Carter Efe had predicted a decisive outcome.

During the fight, Carter Efe maintained control across three rounds, using his reach to land cleaner shots, while Portable threw wider punches and engaged in frequent clinches.

Reflecting on the loss, Portable later downplayed its significance, pointing to developments in his personal life. He revealed that his wife recently welcomed a baby boy, describing the milestone as more important than any title.

Carter Efe’s victory now positions him as the new celebrity boxing champion, as the event continues to gain traction within Nigeria’s entertainment and sports crossover scene.
