Arsenal great Paul Merson has called on Chelsea to target Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in the current summer transfer window.
Merson believes that the Blues require more creative influence beyond Cole Palmer, arguing that Enzo Maresca’s side has become too predictable in attack.
Eze, an England international, has attracted interest from several Premier League sides this summer, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
“I can’t believe Chelsea are not going for Eberechi Eze,” Merson said in his Sky Sports column.
“They buy winger after winger, but they need more than Palmer.
“If you get Eze, you then have two players [Eze and Palmer] who can break teams down.
“They’re predictable for me. They play with two quick wingers with Palmer trying to feed them.”
