Galatasaray chief Durzan Özbek has revealed that Victor Osimhen is expected to be back in action in time for the highly anticipated Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce. The Nigerian forward is presently undergoing recovery after sustaining an injury while representing his country during international duty last Sunday. The 26-year-old has already been confirmed unavailable for Okan Buruk’s squad in their Turkish Super Lig encounter against Gençlerbirliği scheduled for Saturday (today).
Despite his current absence, Özbek remains confident that the prolific attacker will return in time for the intercontinental showdown with rivals Fenerbahce on December 1. “He’ll likely have a recovery period of approximately two weeks. Our focus is on Osimhen being ready for the Fenerbahçe match. Our doctors are working on that,” Özbek told Hurriyet.
