O’Leary Predicts Tactical Battle in Arsenal-PSG Final

Former Arsenal FC defender David O’Leary believes Saturday’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain will be decided by contrasting strengths and tactical discipline.

The Gunners are chasing a league and European double, while PSG arrive as defending champions.

O’Leary described the contest as a showdown between elite attacking quality and defensive solidity, insisting the outcome will depend on which side makes the most of its opportunities.

“I think it will be a very close game. I don’t think there’s much in it. It’s who performs on the night and who takes their chances.

“It’s going to be a chess match of the best defence in the world, with probably on-form the best goalkeeper in the world, and one of the best midfielders protecting that back four in Declan Rice, against a team with the best attack in the world who can really hurt you, particularly on the break.

“You’ve got to respect PSG because their strength is going forward. We saw that in the Bayern Munich match. Two teams where the philosophy is to take each other on.”
