Odumodublvck recounts near-death experience from drug overdose, urges youths to avoid substance abuse
The rapper revealed he struggled with addiction during his university days, describing how a close brush with death forced him to quit.

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has revealed details of his past struggle with drug addiction, disclosing that he nearly lost his life to an overdose while studying at the University of Lagos.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the “Pity The Boy” crooner said his turning point came after a near-fatal encounter with illicit drugs forced him to call his mother to book a flight back to Abuja.
“I was a very bright student while studying at the University of Lagos. But I was indulging in illicit drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I called my mother to book my flight to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drug once before quitting,” he recounted.
Odumodublvck stressed that he was grateful to God for overcoming the addiction, noting that many others are not as fortunate.
“I’m grateful because there are some people that went into that life and they didn’t make it out. Some people didn’t make it alive, some lost people to it like they died because of drug abuse. Some even committed suicide due to drug overdose. I’ve seen a pregnant woman and her husband battling drug addiction. It’s really terrible,” he added.
The rapper warned young people against indulging in drugs, cautioning that substance abuse destroys lives and families.
