Obasanjo’s son joins Tinubu re-election campaign, pledges support for 2027

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has appointed Olujuwon Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, as it intensifies efforts to mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

Olujuwon, who will serve as Special Adviser on Political Affairs, pledged his support during a visit to the movement’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

He described the appointment as an honour, commending the group for its grassroots mobilisation, community outreach and efforts to promote government activities.

Obasanjo said he was impressed by the movement’s work and was ready to contribute to its objectives, including securing another term for Tinubu in 2027.

He argued that the President had made progress in salary payments, infrastructure development and investment opportunities, urging Nigerians, particularly young people, to support the continuation of ongoing reforms.

He also disclosed that he had been a member of the All Progressives Congress since 2014, adding that his family allowed members to pursue different political interests without hostility.

Earlier, the movement’s National Coordinator, Sunday Adekanbi, welcomed Obasanjo, describing him as an experienced political figure whose leadership background and mobilisation skills would strengthen the organisation.

Adekanbi expressed confidence that his appointment would boost the movement’s activities and expand its reach nationwide.
