Nigeria Immigration Service to Launch Digital Platform for Expatriate Permit Applications on August 1

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the launch of a new online portal for the application of the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC), set to go live on August 1.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration Mr. Akinsola Akinlabi, on Wednesday in Abuja. According to Akinlabi, the move aligns with the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms aimed at boosting efficiency, transparency, and accessibility within the immigration service.

The new platform, accessible at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, will enable applicants to complete and submit their CERPAC applications entirely online, eliminating the need for physical forms.

Starting August 1, all CERPAC applications must be submitted exclusively via the digital portal, with the use of paper forms discontinued. Akinlabi urged applicants who have already paid but have yet to submit their forms to complete the process by July 31 to avoid losing their application status and payments.

He further advised individuals and corporate organizations responsible for expatriate permits to finalise any pending submissions before the deadline to prevent any disruption.

“Any application not submitted before the deadline will be considered void and invalid,” the spokesperson warned, adding that all inquiries regarding the transition should be directed to the office of the Public Relations Officer.

Reaffirming the NIS commitment to modernization, Akinlabi emphasized that this digital shift is part of the service’s broader goal to deliver more efficient, technology-driven immigration services in line with international best practices.
