Nigeria Has Regressed Under Tinubu’s Leadership – Falz

Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has delivered a critical assessment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which recently marked two years in office.

Speaking in a recent interview on Arise TV, Falz expressed disappointment with the current state of the nation, stating that rather than progress, Nigeria has regressed under Tinubu’s leadership.

“It goes without saying that we’ve moved backwards more than anything else,” Falz remarked. “There hasn’t been much progress to speak of. I recall the campaign slogan being ‘Emilokan’—which means ‘It’s my turn.’ But now, one has to wonder: your turn to do what exactly? Because we’re still waiting.”

He noted that while there are still two years left in Tinubu’s tenure, the first half has yielded little in terms of tangible results.

“There might still be a plan we haven’t seen, but so far, in this first half, we’ve seen nothing,” he added.

Falz has long been an outspoken critic of governance and social issues in Nigeria, using both his music and platform to advocate for change. His recent comments add to a growing chorus of voices calling for more accountability and improved leadership from the Tinubu administration.
