“Money Can Help—For a While”: Omah Lay Opens Up About Depression and Healing

Nigerian music star Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has once again spoken candidly about his ongoing battle with depression, revealing that a financial windfall might offer temporary relief.
In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, the Soso hitmaker stated that receiving £10 million or $10 million could ease his emotional pain—at least for a short while.
“10M in pounds or dollars right now will heal me for at least a month,” he wrote, sparking reactions from fans who are familiar with his mental health journey.
Omah Lay has been open about his struggle with chronic depression, which he previously revealed almost claimed his life. His critically acclaimed debut album Boy Alone, released on July 15, 2022, explored themes of loneliness, inner turmoil, and emotional vulnerability.
Now, the singer is preparing to delve even deeper. His upcoming sophomore album, Clarity of Mind, is said to reflect his path toward healing and self-discovery.
In a revealing post made shortly after the release of Boy Alone, Omah Lay shared that his depression worsened after an inappropriate relationship with his therapist—an experience that added another layer to the emotional weight carried in his music.
As fans await Clarity of Mind, Omah Lay continues to use his platform to shed light on mental health, challenging stigmas and encouraging open conversations around healing and vulnerability.
