Minister Dave Umahi Pledges Nationwide Inclusion in Tinubu’s Infrastructure Drive, Promises Project List Release

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has assured that no part of the country is excluded from President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing infrastructure revolution. Speaking after Thursday’s Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, Umahi promised to publish a comprehensive list of all major projects exceeding N10 billion across Nigeria, expected next week.

Highlighting key projects, Umahi detailed progress on Abuja roads 118 km costing N286 billion with 30% paid and over half completed; a 164 km second phase at N502 billion with 30% disbursed; and the 72 km Abuja–Kano road valued at N450 billion with similar payment progress. He also noted a $22 billion Abuja County application project underway.

Regional projects include the Bauchi–Gombe road with funds fully released for all four sections, Gombe projects funded via Sukuk bonds, and the Nembe Bridge receiving 30% of its N156 billion allocation. The Lagos–Calabar coastal highway is 85% complete and boosting Lagos’s GDP, while other roads in Adamawa, Lagos–Shagamu–Ijebu Ode–Ore, Niger State, and the Sokoto–Badagry corridor have received funding and are underway.

Reflecting on the Keffi Flyover tragedy that claimed three lives, Umahi confirmed government compensation to affected families and ongoing reconstruction, with the bridge currently closed to traffic.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transparency, the minister invited public scrutiny and debate on the infrastructure projects, stressing the positive impacts on state economies and national development.
