MI Abaga Leads Voice Cast in Nigeria’s Landmark Animation Gammy & The Living Things
MI Abaga makes his animated debut in Gammy & The Living Things, premiering September 5 with Nollywood icons Joke Silva, Bovi, and Pete Edochie.

Hip-hop star Jude “MI” Abaga is stepping into animation for the first time, taking the lead role in Gammy & The Living Things, set to premiere in Nigerian cinemas on September 5.
Abaga voices Gammy, an ambitious agama lizard chasing dreams beyond his small world. His journey to Lagos unfolds with humour, music, and cultural themes that reflect both struggle and hope.
The rapper joins an impressive cast of Nollywood veterans, including Joke Silva, comedian Bovi Ugboma, and screen legend Pete Edochie.
Describing the project, FilmOne Entertainment, official distributors of the film, called it Nigeria’s most ambitious animated feature to date.
Victoria Ogar, FilmOne’s head of distribution, said the production represents a breakthrough for African storytelling on screen.
“Gammy is everything we’ve always believed about Nigerian stories that they are powerful, and that African animation can stand tall on the big screen,” she noted.
The film’s release is widely anticipated as a milestone in Nigeria’s growing animation industry.
