Arsenal legend Paul Merson has questioned his former club’s ability to overcome Bayern Munich ahead of their Champions League clash in Germany on Wednesday night.
Bayern will welcome Mikel Arteta’s side to the Allianz Arena, with Merson expressing doubts about Arsenal’s chances during an appearance on Sky Sports ahead of the encounter.
“I just can’t see how they [Arsenal] beat Bayern Munich this week,” Merson said.
“If I was Bayern, I would just open the game up and just say you have a shot, we have a shot because there will only be one winner. Can Arsenal outscore teams?” Merson added.
