The pioneer Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Grace Adayilo, is dead.
Adayilo, who etched her name in history as the first-ever Head of Service of the FCT and the first woman to occupy the position, reportedly passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Her death was confirmed in a brief message to our correspondent by her Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Odey.
President Bola Tinubu had approved Adayilo’s appointment on October 6, 2024, with immediate effect. Prior to her elevation, she served meritoriously as the Permanent Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat.
