Nigerian comedian Cute Abiola has appealed to President Bola Tinubu over persistent electricity challenges, lamenting that even his solar power system had stopped working.
The comedian made the appeal in a video shared online, where he expressed frustration over the lack of electricity and the hardship Nigerians continue to face.
Addressing the president, Cute Abiola pleaded for urgent intervention, saying the heat and prolonged power outage had become unbearable.
“President Tinubu, my solar is off. Please, for God’s sake, help us. My solar is off right now. Please, everywhere is hot. The suffering is too much. Please, there’s no light. Abeg,” he said.
He also criticised what he described as the government’s focus on President Tinubu’s re-election campaign while Nigerians contend with challenges, including unreliable electricity supply.
The comedian ended his remarks with a sarcastic comment on the limitations of solar power as an alternative to public electricity supply.
“Buy solar, buy solar. Solar sef dey off,” he said.
