Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers has confirmed receiving interest from Greek Super League giants Olympiacos and AEK Athens, signaling a possible departure from Glasgow Rangers during the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old enjoyed a standout 2024/2025 season in the Scottish Premiership, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 18 goals. Across all competitions, he notched an impressive 29 goals and provided seven assists in 55 appearances for Rangers.
Dessers, who recently featured in Nigeria’s victorious 2025 Unity Cup campaign in the UK — where the Super Eagles beat Ghana in the semi-finals and overcame Jamaica in the final — spoke to Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant about the growing interest in his services.
“With my statistics, it’s normal that there’s interest. I’ve also heard that AEK Athens and Olympiacos want to talk, but for now, I just want to enjoy my holiday,” Dessers said.
