Atiku Rules Out 2031 Presidential Bid, Declares 2027 His Final Race

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has ruled out another presidential bid beyond 2027, declaring that the upcoming election will be his final attempt at becoming Nigeria’s president.

Atiku made the declaration during a Hausa-language interview on Wednesday, in which he was asked whether he would seek the presidency again in 2031 if he failed to win the 2027 election.

The former vice president, who has made several attempts to win the presidency, also urged Nigerians with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to turn out for the 2027 polls and ensure their votes are properly counted.

Atiku stressed the importance of voters remaining at their polling units and actively participating in the electoral process, as he seeks to make what he has now described as his final presidential contest.
