Air Peace Launches Direct Abuja–London Flights, Becomes First Nigerian Airline to Serve Heathrow and Gatwick

Air Peace has announced the commencement of direct international flights from Abuja to London’s two busiest airports—Heathrow and Gatwick—beginning October 26, 2025, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s aviation history.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the airline’s spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, Air Peace confirmed that it is now the first Nigerian airline to offer direct flights from Abuja to both London Heathrow and London Gatwick, expanding its transcontinental footprint and enhancing travel options for Nigerian and international passengers.

“This development means passengers flying from any of Air Peace’s domestic destinations can now book a seamless journey through Abuja to London—Heathrow or Gatwick—on a single ticket,” Osifo-Whiskey stated.

“There’s no need for multiple bookings or baggage re-checks, making the travel experience smoother, faster, and more convenient.”

The airline noted that inbound passengers from the UK can also access a broad network of domestic connections, with same-day transfers from Abuja to major Nigerian cities including Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Benin, Warri, Owerri, Kano, Yola, Gombe, and Asaba. The network will be expanded further in subsequent phases.

With a reputation for breaking new ground in the African aviation sector, Air Peace described this launch as another bold stride in its mission to redefine regional and international air travel.

“With introductory round-trip fares starting from just ₦1 million, combined with unmatched domestic connectivity, this new route reaffirms Air Peace’s commitment to democratising access to international travel for Nigerians,” the airline stated.

The new routes are part of Air Peace’s wider strategy to deepen its long-haul offerings while leveraging Abuja as a strategic hub for both local and international connectivity.

Flight bookings for the new Abuja–London service officially opened on Sunday.
