Afeez Owo Responds to Yemi Solade’s Public Apology Over On-Set Altercation
The Nollywood producer describes the veteran actor as his “senior brother” and says he has put the incident behind him.

Nollywood producer Afeez Owo has addressed the recent public apology issued by veteran actor Yemi Solade over an altercation that occurred years ago on a movie set.
Solade, during an interview, admitted to slapping Owo during filming and expressed regret over the incident, revealing that he had also discussed the matter with some of their colleagues.
Reacting on the African A-List podcast, Afeez Owo said he has accepted the apology wholeheartedly, describing Solade as his senior brother.
“After seeing his apology, I let go of the incident. Even if he did not apologize, he is not at fault because it is like when an elder brother beats his younger brother. Even if the older one is at fault, the younger brother will still be asked to apologize to the senior,” Owo explained.
Recalling the incident, the producer revealed he was serving as the production manager at the time and was responsible for catering to the cast and crew.
“When we were leaving Ibadan for another location in a Fulani resettlement area, I informed everyone to let me know their needs so I could get them. It seems Uncle Solade didn’t understand me too well and slapped me when he was hungry,” he recounted.
Owo stressed that he has since moved on, emphasizing that there is no lingering animosity between him and the veteran actor.
