ADC aspirant, Hayatu-Deen, vows to remain in 2027 presidential race

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has declared that he will contest the 2027 primaries without stepping aside for any candidate.

He said Nigeria urgently needs competent and visionary leadership to address long-standing challenges such as economic decline, insecurity, unemployment, and weak public services. Hayatu-Deen stated that every qualified Nigerian has the constitutional right to contest for political office, stressing that leadership selection should be based on competence and ideas.

He blamed years of poor governance for rising inflation, job losses, insecurity, and the deterioration of key sectors including education and healthcare. Hayatu-Deen expressed confidence in his experience and capacity to contribute to national development and improve living standards.

On party loyalty, he said he remains committed to the ADC and would support whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer after the primaries.

Hayatu-Deen also called for stronger internal democracy within political parties and urged opposition collaboration where necessary to strengthen electoral competitiveness. He added that democracy must ultimately focus on delivering improved welfare and accountability to citizens.
