Galatasaray have confirmed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is facing a groin injury after medical examinations revealed a moderate-to-severe strain to his right adductor muscle.
The Turkish champions said Osimhen underwent an MRI and additional tests at Acibadem Hospital, where teammate Mario Lemina was also found to have an adductor injury. Both players have commenced treatment, although no recovery period has been announced.
Osimhen suffered the setback during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Başakşehir on Friday. The forward opened the scoring but was forced off in the 33rd minute after experiencing discomfort.
The injury comes as Galatasaray prepare for their UEFA Champions League campaign and could also cast doubt over Osimhen’s availability for Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
