Kanye West Set for Prague Concert Amid Controversy Over European Tour

American rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, is scheduled to perform in Prague on July 25, marking a key stop in his planned European tour.

The announcement was confirmed by Zuzana Rambova, director of the Chuchle Arena, which will host the concert. She disclosed the date but did not provide additional details about the event.

Local reports indicate the show is being organised by HUGO Production, a company reportedly owned by Slovak promoter Hugo Varga.

West’s return to the European stage comes after a period of mixed reception across the region. While he is planning performances in several countries throughout June and July, some appearances have faced resistance from authorities and local leaders.

In the United Kingdom, the government declined to grant him entry for three scheduled shows at the Wireless Festival in London. Similarly, the mayor of Marseille has publicly stated that the rapper is not welcome to perform in the city.

In contrast, officials in the Netherlands have indicated no plans to block his appearance there, where he is expected to perform in early June.

West’s recent touring efforts follow a cancelled appearance at the Rubicon rap festival in Bratislava last year. Organisers pulled the event after backlash over a controversial song he released on May 8, 2025—the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The decision came after thousands signed a petition opposing his participation.

Despite the controversies, the 48-year-old artist remains a major figure in global music, with 24 Grammy Awards to his name. His Prague performance is expected to draw significant attention as he attempts a broader return to international touring.
