The All Progressives Congress (APC) sincerely appreciates the good people of Rivers State for their overwhelming support in Saturday’s Local Government Elections, where the Party secured victory in 20 out of the 23 chairmanship seats contested across the state.
This triumph is yet another clear demonstration of the people’s confidence in the APC-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to deliver transformative, people-centered governance across the nation.
We commend our party leaders, members, and supporters for their dedication and hard work in making this victory possible. We also extend our appreciation to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and hitch-free exercise.
The party urge the newly elected local government officials to redouble their efforts in delivering impactful governance and meaningful dividends of democracy for the benefit of all.
The APC, however, categorically rejects the baseless and inflammatory allegations made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar regarding the Rivers State elections. His claims are nothing but a desperate smokescreen to cover yet another poor outing by his African Democratic Congress (ADC), and a failed attempt to incite tension and undermine public confidence in the democratic process.
We are confident that the people of Rivers State will continue to ignore Atiku’s divisive rhetoric and stand firmly on the path of peace, unity, and progress.
Once again, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Rivers electorate for their valued support. Together, we will continue building a stronger, more united Rivers State that truly works for all.
