Gary Neville and Roy Keane Voice Concerns Over Ruben Amorim’s Handling of Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo

Former Manchester United legends Gary Neville and Roy Keane have voiced their apprehensions regarding the treatment of Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount under current Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim. Both former players raised doubts about Amorim’s midfield selections and his apparent preferences for certain players.

During a discussion on The Overlap, Neville expressed his skepticism about Amorim’s confidence in Mainoo. He remarked, “I cannot help thinking that he [Amorim] does not quite fancy Mainoo. He is never really put him from the beginning. He is gone with Casemiro and Fernandes but Amorim needs to sort the midfield out. You cannot have that midfield. They have tried Mount, Fernandes, Ugarte, Casemiro but he is changing a lot every game. I think Ruben Amorim really likes Mount.”

Keane, meanwhile, highlighted his concerns over the manager’s fondness for Mount, questioning the player’s ability to revive the club’s fortunes. “Do you honestly think Mount is going to get [Manchester] United back? I know Amorim likes him but that worries me,” Keane stated.

Both former United stars appear uneasy about the direction Amorim is taking with the squad, particularly in midfield, reflecting wider concerns about Manchester United’s current performance and strategy.
