Fenerbahce Sack Jose Mourinho After Champions League Exit

Fenerbahce have officially dismissed Jose Mourinho from his role as head coach, just one day after the club’s failure to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The decision follows Fenerbahce’s elimination at the hands of Portuguese side Benfica, marking a major setback for the Turkish giants. Mourinho, who joined the club only eight months ago, departs after overseeing just two matches in the current campaign.
Despite guiding Fenerbahce to a second-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig last season, the 62-year-old was unable to deliver any silverware. His side exited the Turkish Cup at the quarter-final stage and were eliminated from the UEFA Europa League in the round of 16 by Rangers.
Mourinho’s short-lived tenure in Istanbul ends without a trophy, adding to the growing pressure on the club to regroup ahead of the remainder of the season.
