Super Falcons’ Ihezuo Among Leading Contenders for WAFCON Top Scorer Award

Super Falcons forward Chiwendu Ihezuo is currently among the frontrunners competing for the top scorer accolade at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Ihezuo, who represents Mexican side Pachuca, has netted two goals in three appearances for Nigeria in Morocco.

However, the striker faces stiff competition if she is to secure the tournament’s golden boot.

Morocco captain Ghizlane Chebbak and Senegal’s Nguenar Ndiaye lead the scoring charts with four goals each.

Zambia’s potent attacking pair, Barbara Banda and Rachel Kundananji, have both scored three goals apiece.

Meanwhile, Senegal’s Mama Diop, Ghana’s Alice Kusi, and Morocco’s Yasmine Mrabet have each contributed two goals in the competition.
