Police Arrest 13 Suspects Following Murder of Naval Officer in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended 13 suspects in connection with the tragic murder of Lt. Commodore M. Buba, a naval officer and senior course student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in the Kawo area of Kaduna State.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the officer was attacked at approximately 5:20 a.m. near a bus stop just before the Kawo flyover. Lt. Commodore Buba had stopped to change a flat tire on his vehicle when an assailant approached and demanded his mobile phone.

When the officer refused to comply and questioned the demand, the attacker suddenly stabbed him in the chest with a local knife. The suspect was immediately overpowered by bystanders, who then fatally assaulted him on the spot.

Lt. Commodore Buba was rushed to Manaal Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

In response, Kaduna police launched an operation in the Kawo district, leading to the arrest of 13 individuals found in possession of knives and other dangerous weapons. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.

DSP Hassan assured that the police remain committed to ensuring justice for the late officer and maintaining security in the area.
