Nigerian singer Wande Coal has responded sharply to Davido after the Afrobeats star spoke about the unreleased version of Coal’s hit song, “Come My Way.”
The exchange followed remarks by Davido about his involvement with the song and the reason his verse on the track was never officially released.
Wande Coal addressed the issue in a post on his official X account, pushing back against what he described as an attempt to influence how the record should be released.
The singer said “Come My Way” already had a release plan and date before any outside involvement, arguing that the song did not require changes to its rollout strategy.
He also maintained that the record had performed well without Davido’s contribution.
“Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song fuckin did well without you on it bruv!!” Wande Coal wrote.
His response comes amid renewed attention on the history of the unreleased collaboration, following Davido’s comments about the track.
“Come My Way” is one of Wande Coal’s recognised songs, and discussion around Davido’s unused verse has resurfaced following the singers’ recent public remarks about the Nigerian music industry.
